  • LBUSD Gets Plenty of Funding

LBUSD receives 25.5% of every property tax dollar.

This allows the school district to spend almost $34,000 per student or nearly twice as much as other districts in CA.

  • Yet, Math Proficiency is Horrible

The longer kids are in the district the worse they score.

Nearly 50% of high school students cannot pass basic math proficiency - despite having all of that extra money to spend per student.

  • Science Proficiency Is Also Poor

Again, the longer kids are in the district the worse they score.

Nearly 40% of high school students cannot pass basic science proficiency - again this is despite having nearly double the spending per student.

  • Even Reading Proficiency is Soft

Despite having so much taxpayer funding and given such an affluent area (where reading scores should be much higher than state averages), the district still doesn't score at the top of the class!

  • Original $150 million District Plan at High School

A group of 20 people hand picked by the school board and district cook up a facilities master plan that would have been the 2nd largest construction project in Laguna history. Only 4 of those 20 people actually live in Laguna and two of them were board members (Osborne, Vickers).

  • Understanding Full Scope of Plan Impact

If you took the length of each area the school district and board wanted to tear up with bulldozers and laid them end to end, it would reach from Hotel Laguna/Main Beach up Coast Highway all the way to Legion!.
